DUSTIN IS A NEW YORK-BASED PHOTOGRAPHER AND CONTRIBUTING EDITOR AT IRIS COVET BOOK

I am an internationally-published photographer, contributing editor, writer and poet with 9 years of combined experience in the commercial photography and magazine world. In 2016, I was a member of the founding team of IRIS Covet Book as Features Editor. In addition to helping launch the publication, I secured international distribution contracts for the magazine, as well as spearheaded its online distribution.

Photography is more than a beautiful image, for me it is the ability to connect with and document the essence of my subject at the moment in time when our paths intersect. With my intuitive and empathic approach, I seek the emotional core of my subjects and try to share it in a way that is both celebratory and accessible. My interviews add another layer of depth to my photographic work, verbalizing my subject’s story and sharing it with the world. I’ve had the opportunity to share the stories of creative talent & industry leaders through my photographs and interviews. Writing poems since my youth, I’ve also had works published as voiceover for fashion film, or as an accompaniment to my own photographic work. My clients include celebrities, designers, fine artists, corporate executives, authors, activists, philanthropists, politicians, athletes, major beauty companies and editorial clients.

LIGHT

We are all simply refractions of light:

Vibrating atoms that compose our bodies reflect light waves

which enter our pupils, to be interpreted by our brains

as the holographic images that represent

your face

or

my face.

Without light there is no color.

Imagine if there was no light and only total darkness.

Without light, we are simply an imageless lump of matter

Floating through the void of space and time.
